MyGrower Dashboard
A Dashboard for a quick overview for growers
Project Overview
What is it?
A Greenstone Systems grower app and web portal. It is a digital solution that empowers growers to manage their agribusiness needs at all levels of the supply chain. Being both an app and web portal, MyGrower gives growers access to vital, real-time account information and the ability to perform their business digitally.

Tools
Results
-
Contract Turnaround Time: decrease the average time to sign a contract from avg. 72 hours to avg. 24 hours
-
Time-to-Insight (TTI): 60-70% reduction in the time it takes a grower to check their overall position
-
Days Sales Outstanding (DSO):10-15% faster collection of receivables
Timeline

Problem
Our core software is a deeply complex system that manages critical workflows for large-scale operations. However, the original user experience suffered from extreme data fragmentation, leading to significant operational bottlenecks for our clients.
Our biggest problems were:
-
Information was presented in dense, text-heavy tables with no summaries or visualizations.
-
There were no graphs or charts to help users identify trends or anomalies at a glance.
-
Users had to keep mental notes or use external tools to aggregate information from different areas of the site.
Solution
We replaced scattered tables and information with a visual dashboard that summarizes all key data in one view. By using graphs and summary cards, we cut Time-to-Insight, and we let users see their whole business at a glance instead of them hunting through pages. We also put "Account Status" and "Unsigned Contracts" at the beginning to speed up Contract Turnaround and reduce DSO by making it impossible to miss a payment or a signature.
-
I had to break down the information architecture to ensure users saw the most important widgets first
-
We successfully hit all of our KPIs

Research
The research phase included user interviews and workflow mapping, which revealed that growers were spending 70% of their session time navigating between pages just to aggregate data. This evidence supported our shift toward a centralized summary architecture, focusing on reducing cognitive load through visual trend reporting.
Methods Used
-
User Interviews and shadowing
-
how did users use the old site
-
-
Card Sorting
-
information architecture
-
-
Behavioral Goal Mapping (KPI Alignment)
-
Analyzed why contracts took 3 days to be signed
-
-
Visual Perception & Cognitive Load Studies
-
ex: Showing users the "Shipments" table vs. the new "Shipments" line grap
-
Goals
-
Visualize Trends & Simplify Data
-
Identify User Roadblocks
-
See if graphs or tables helped users understand their data and market trends faster
-
Finding out how much time was wasted clicking through different pages just to get a simple overview
I interviewed 8 key users to find where they were struggling. After the redesign, I tested it with 12 users and found they could finish tasks 75% faster with far fewer mistakes.
Key Insights
My research showed that users were wasting time "tab-hopping". Critical tasks like signing contracts were often missed because they were buried in menus, and long tables made it hard to see market trends. These findings proved the site needed to move from a boring database to a visual dashboard that does the math and highlights urgent actions automatically.
Testing
Once the new dashboard was built, I ran three tests to make sure it solved the problems I found during research:
Methods
-
Stopwatch Test
-
Are new graphs and summaries actually easy to understand at a glance?
-
-
A/B Testing
-
Do "Pay Now" and "Unsigned" buttons actually change behavior?
-
-
5-Second Clarity Test
-
Has speed actually improved?
-
Results
-
Time-to-Insight (TTI): 75% Faster Users went from spending 3 minutes searching through multiple pages to finding their total storage and bids in under 30 seconds.
-
Contract Turnaround: 24-Hour Improvement, users signed their documents a full day sooner than they did on the old site.
-
Days Sales Outstanding (DSO): the "Front-and-Center" payment button led to a small drop in late payments, as users no longer had to hunt for their balance.
Challenges
One of my biggest challenges was showing a massive amount of data without cluttering the screen. I also had to design for growers with different levels of tech experience, so I used large buttons and clear labels to make the dashboard easy for everyone to use. Finally, to handle slow internet speeds in the field, I worked with the engineering team to make sure the most important summary data loads first.
Results
The project was very successful, and we got great feedback from our users once it was implemented.
-
Contract Turnaround Time: decrease the average time to sign a contract from avg. 72 hours to avg. 24 hours
-
Time-to-Insight (TTI): 60-70% reduction in the time it takes a grower to check their overall position
-
Days Sales Outstanding (DSO):10-15% faster collection of receivables
Takeaways
I learned that visual graphs are much more effective than long tables for helping users spot trends quickly. Most importantly, I saw how moving key tasks to the front of the dashboard directly sped up signatures and payments. By keeping the layout simple with large buttons, we made the tool easy for every grower to use, regardless of their tech experience.
